Our History

Tower Inspection, Inc. (TII), incorporated in 1962, has been performing inspection, maintenance and installation of towers and related antennas on a worldwide basis since its inception. End customers include the US Navy, the US Coast Guard, the US Air Force, and NOAA, among others. Our crews work from coast to coast and overseas on all types of towers from 15′ transmissometer towers at airports to 1500′ VLF towers used for submarine communications. Our firm holds a QP1 certification through the SSPC and we are members of the National Association of Tower Erectors and participants in the NATE Star safety initiative. We are very well equipped with all equipment necessary to perform maintenance and inspection on towers of all heights.

Gary G. Lehman, PMP

President

Mr. Lehman joined Tower Inspection, Inc. in 1982 and became President in 1993. His extensive experience consists of inspection, maintenance, and construction of towers across North and South America, Europe and Asia. Mr. Lehman is skilled at, and accustomed to, working with both civilian and government organizations. And he is Tower Inspection’s contract administrator for all government communication and defense projects.

Neal Bayless

Vice President

Mr. Bayless joined Tower Inspection, Inc. in 1988. As a vice president, Mr. Bayless shoulders a wide range of responsibilities, some of which include: generating new business, estimating, managing ongoing construction and repairs, and inspecting completed projects. Mr. Bayless’s background also includes extensive experience in drafting, production, customer service, and inventory and materials management.

Philip Nickels, PCS

Vice President / Quality Control Manager / Project Manager / Protective Coating Specialist

Philip joined TII in 1993 while attending Oklahoma State University. Upon completing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science in 1996, he became a full-time employee working to inspect and test cellular antenna systems and their ground systems. Gradually his work turned toward more specialized structures and he has considerable field experience with

  • USN VLF antennas
  • USCG LORAN-C, NDGPS, VTS towers
  • FAA RTR, RCAG towers
  • Power transmission towers
  • Various HF antennas (Spiracones, RLPAs, Log Periodic, etc.)

Philip has extensive knowledge of coatings related to hot-dipped galvanized substrates in marine environments and maintains a SSPC PCS and a PCI Level 3 certification. Philip is one of two TII’s in house competent climber and rescue trainers certified through ComTrain and holds an OSHA 30.

Philip is one of TII’s senior inspector / report writers with over two decades of knowledge related to tower structures including their marking requirements, grounding systems, safety related devices, antennas, and other appurtenances.

 

 

Sarah Moore

Vice President / Project Manager

Mrs. Moore joined Tower Inspection in April 2010 as an Administrative Assistant,receiving a promotion to Project Manager in May 2011. She has since managed various tower inspection and maintenance projects for the United States Coast Guard, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and United States Air Force. Sarah prepares proposal documents and was instrumental in obtaining a multi-year IDIQ contract with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration for inspection and maintenance of NEXRAD towers worldwide. Sarah has also managed logistics for overseas shipments of tools and materials.

Mike L. Kirby

Superintendent / Journeyman Ironworker

Mr. Kirby has over 30 years of ironworking experience and specializes in the use of cranes and gin poles for building and repairing towers. His supervisory experience is also impressive and includes towers for worldwide communication companies, antenna support structures up to 1,500′ tall, repair and maintenance projects for top government agencies.

Mark Cantrell

Superintendent

Mr. Cantrell joined our team in 2000 and is our foundations expert. He has installed, inspected and overseen construction, repair and maintenance of cellular and microwave towers for the world’s leading telecommunication companies and government agencies. His work can be found across North America, Puerto Rico, Guam and more.

INSPECTION

Our standard site inspection is designed for safety and your peace of mind. Site inspection should make you feel secure, not nervous, and we’re here to help.

ENGINEERING

The engineers at Tower Inspection use the most widely accepted tower design software, including finite element analysis, from Tnx Tower and STAAD pro.

INSTALLATION

We provide installation services including site preparation, foundations and ground plane installation, tower erection, antenna and transmission line installation and testing.

Dedicated to the maintenance, particularly painting, of high towers in Australia, HTS is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tower Inspection, Inc. The Australian director of HTS, Mr. Ross Gardam, has years of experience as an advanced rigger and intimate familiarity with tall towers.

The HTS mission is to provide Australian labor, with training and safety and environmental compliance with an emphasis on Australian standards and regulations.
